  • AFSCME LaborLinks: Women's Labor History
    This detailed and comprehensive collection on Women's Labor History is published by the American Federation of State, County & Munincipal Employees (AFSCME).

  • Age of Industry
    This site provides an organized set of links to web sites covering different aspects of the Industrial Revolution, organized by categories (material primarily covers the United Kingdom and the United States); created and maintained by a teacher at the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp/University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana.

  • Encyclopedia of British History: 1700- 1950
    This site presents one of the largest & most comprehensive online compilations of resources on British history, providing in-depth information on events, issues and personalities and includes original images and eye-witness reports.  See especially "The Textile Industry," "Entrepreneurs & Business Leaders," "Child Labor 1750-1900," "Socialism and the Labour Movement," and "Trade Union Movement" sections.

  • Haymarket Affair
    This is a Library of Congress site about the confrontation between Chicago police and labor protesters in 1886 - referred to as the Haymarket Affair - and includes images of original manuscripts, photographs, prints, and artifacts. This historical event is extremely important historical occurrence in the struggle for American workers' rights.

  • Labor Arts
    An aesthetically pleasing site, Labor Arts is a continual work in progress which has attempted to create a "virtual museum" identifying and displaying examples of the cultural and artistic history of working people.  Collections include buttons, badges & ribbons; cartoon art on labor issues; leaflets & pamphlets; murals; photographs; and more.  This site is searchable by date, type, occupation, ethnicity, nationality, subject or key word, and was created and is maintained by a private group in New York City.

  • Social Work History Links
    A directory of links to information on work history, this site is sponsored by the School of Social Work at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

  • The Social Work History Station
    This web site is a work in progress, but what is provided is excellent and fun in its presentation. &nbap;It is published by a professor in the School of Social Work at Boise State University in Idaho.

  • The Victorian Web
    This site, which has a wide range of information on social and cultural climates in the Victorian age, is published by the National University of Singapore.  See the section on "Social History."

  • A Web of English History
    This web site covers social, political and economic issues in the period 1830-50 in Britain, including the following popular movements: Chartism, the Anti-Corn Law League, trade unions, etc.  It was created and is maintained by a British Ph.D. historian.

  • The World of Work: History of Work in Minnesota
    A comprehensive and excellent site created by the Minnesota Labor Interpretive Center is now hosted by the Great River Arts Association in Little Falls, MN.  The exhibit is designed as if you were looking through a scrapbook, and covers the time period from the Stone Age to the late 20th century.
