  • Elections and Electoral Systems by Country
    Election information from around the world is available at this web site. Currently approximately 50 countries are covered, as well as other links of interest listed at the top of the page.

  • GovSpot
    Directory of links to local, state, federal, and world government information, this site covers issues in the news, pay tables, and shortcuts to other helpful information. Listed subjects include general government information, social services, justice, matters of money, science, world affairs, and politics.  The site is provided by a non-partisan, private company.

  • Minnesota State Court System
    Information about the State courts, court opinions, links to the State Law Library, and other resources are available at this government site.

  • New American Studies Web
    A searchable directory of resources in 28 fields, including community studies; government, politics and current affairs; nationalism and postnationalism; race, ethnicity, and identity; and much more, this site is hosted by Georgetown University.

    "[P]ublished as a non-partisan public service to promote fully informed decision-making by the American electorate" by an individual who is an attorney, political journalist, businessman, & communications consultant, this site is a comprehensive resource on American politics.   Presidential, Gubernatorial, US Senatorial & Congressional candidates and political parties, including 3rd parties and 3rd party candidates, are covered, as well as information on interest groups in the US, which reflect contrasting positions on hot issues.

  • POLY-CY
    A very comprehensive subject guide of internet resources for political science, this site was created and is maintained by a professor of political science at West Virginia University.

  • Portals to the World
    Library of Congress subject experts provide links to electronic sources for authoritative in-depth information about nations around the world.  Each country's link includes further information on its history, government and law, literature and culture, business and residential directories, libraries and archives, and news and current events.

  • Project Vote Smart
    This site tracks the performance of more than 34,000 political leaders.  Resources include voting records, biographies of current members of Congress, education reference materials, political humor, etc.  The site is presented by a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization.

  • Public Agenda Online
    This nonpartisan opinion research organization claims to have the inside source for public opinion and policy analysis. Its focus includes controversial issues like abortion, America's global role, the federal budget, gay rights, immigration, internet speech/privacy, and race, just to name a few.

  • Stateline.org
    This site provides information on the public policies of all 50 states, current and archived news, background information about the states and their governments, and statistical data tables.  A non-profit, non-partisan news organization, it is funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts.

  • Supreme Court of the United States
    Published by the U.S. Supreme Court and the Government Printing Office, this site provides access to general information on the Court, the Court's Term slip opinions, Term orders, rules, special notices, press releases and more.

  • University of Michigan Documents Center
    This excellent meta-index of local, national, and international government information is presented by the Documents Center of the University Library at the University of Michigan.
