    A good comprehensive web site providing easy to use and well-organized sites for aviation history, organizations, agencies, museums, career information and weather.

  • AirNav
    Detailed, regularly updated aeronautical flight planning information for pilots can be found at this site.  Topics include airport locations in the US, detailed runway information, technical and operational information about radio navigation aids and communication frequencies, aviation fuel prices, and a fuel stop planner.

  • Airplanes.com
    This is a site that provides general information about airplanes, airlines, and flight. They also host several discussion groups about various airplane-related topics.

  • Air Traffic Control System Command Center
    This site provides real-time airport status for major airports throughout the U.S.

  • AviationNow.com
    This site offers access to selected full text articles on news and events in aviation.

  • BUBL Link
    A catalog of internet resources on all academic areas, BUBL is provided by Strathclyde University in Scotland.  The link provided here will take you to the aviation resources page.

  • Celebrating the Evolution of Flight
    The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) created a site that provides a detailed timeline of the history of flight from pre-1700s to the present, a photo gallery and good links to other aviation sites.

  • Federal Aviation Administration
    This comprehensive government site covers everything from airline education to airline security, including rules and regulations, education, advisory notices, news releases, and licensing.

  • Great Lakes Region of the Federal Aviation Administration
    In addition to a wealth of information on the Federal Aviation Administration, this site provides links to aviation organizations and other helpful links and regional centers.

    The Bureau of Meteorology provides several thousand information resources and products in a variety of formats using several delivery media. Most are freely available.

    The meteorological Service of Canada "monitors water quantities, provides information and conducts research on climate, atmospheric science, air quality, ice and other environmental issues."

    Official weather forecasts, products, information, and observations.

  • UM Weather
    University of Michigan provides a great collection of nearly 300 web, gopher, telnet, and FTP weather sites.  An archive of weather software for download is also available.

  • Unisys Weather
    Great site on meteorology; including satellite, surface, upper air, and radar images along with weather forecast models.

  • WW2010: The Weather World 2010 Project
    Online meteorology guides that include modules for light and optics, clouds, and precipitation, forces and winds, air masses and fronts, weather forecasting, severe storms, hurricanes, etc.  Created and provided by the University of Illinois.

  • The WWW Virtual Library: Meteorology
    Provided by NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, this site is a gateway to various web sites and other sources of meteorological data.
