Databases
Don't forget to go to the many online databases,
which provide access to articles from journals, magazines, and
newspapers. Some of these articles are provided in full-text, but
others are not. The databases also act as a cumulative index to many of

3rd Coast Squadron Aviation Links
A good comprehensive web site providing easy to use and well-organized
sites for aviation history, organizations, agencies, museums, career
information and weather. AirNav Detailed,
regularly updated aeronautical flight planning information for pilots
can be found at this site. Topics include airport locations
in the US, detailed runway information, technical and operational
information about radio navigation aids and communication frequencies,
aviation fuel prices, and a fuel stop planner. Airplanes.com This is a
site that provides general information about airplanes, airlines, and
flight. They also host several discussion groups about various
airplane-related topics. Air Traffic
Control System Command Center This site provides
real-time airport status for major airports throughout the U.S.

This site offers access to selected full text articles on news and
events in aviation. BUBL Link A catalog of
internet resources on all academic areas, BUBL is provided by
Strathclyde University in Scotland. The link provided here
will take you to the aviation resources page. Celebrating the Evolution of Flight
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) created a
site that provides a detailed timeline of the history of flight from
pre-1700s to the present, a photo gallery and good links to other
aviation sites. Federal Aviation Administration
This comprehensive government site covers everything from airline
education to airline security, including rules and regulations,
education, advisory notices, news releases, and licensing.
Great Lakes Region
of the Federal Aviation Administration In addition
to a wealth of information on the Federal Aviation Administration, this
site provides links to aviation organizations and other helpful links
and regional centers. International Civil Aviation Organization
Landings: Aviation
Hub This site provides access to aircraft
registrations, pilot records, accident reports, links to weather
information sources, the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) archive,
FAA reports, etc. Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center
National Aviation
Safety Data Analysis Center The purpose of this web
site is "to provide the public with access to several of the principal
aviation safety data and information sources the Federal Government
uses for various purposes." PlaneCrashInfo.com A
database of more than 2000 major aviation accidents from 1908 to
present.
Resources on the Web - Meteorology
BUBL Link
A catalog of internet resources on all academic areas, BUBL is provided
by Strathclyde University in Scotland. The link provided here
will take you to the meteorology resources page. Bureau of Meteorology Australia
The Bureau of Meteorology provides several thousand information
resources and products in a variety of formats using several delivery
media. Most are freely available. Meteorological
Service of Canada The meteorological Service of
Canada "monitors water quantities, provides information and conducts
research on climate, atmospheric science, air quality, ice and other
environmental issues." National Weather Service Home Page
Official weather forecasts, products, information, and observations.
Naval Weather
Service Association A mini-history of naval weather
& oceanography and information about the organization
are found at this site. Twin Cities: National Weather Service
Forecast Office This site provides up-to-the-minute
weather forecasts and local news weather headlines.
UM Weather
University of Michigan provides a great collection of nearly 300 web,
gopher, telnet, and FTP weather sites. An archive of weather
software for download is also available. Unisys Weather Great
site on meteorology; including satellite, surface, upper air, and radar
images along with weather forecast models. WW2010: The
Weather World 2010 Project Online meteorology
guides that include modules for light and optics, clouds, and
precipitation, forces and winds, air masses and fronts, weather
forecasting, severe storms, hurricanes, etc.
